Everybody loves a high five

The more time you spend with people, the more time you spend making observations about them. Often times the changes we notice most about one another are negative, but at some point we all find ourselves in a downturn of events. Some call it a rut, some call it alcoholism, but I don't like to put a name on things.

Most recently I saw someone I have the utmost respect for follow the wicked, twisted road through a bad relationship and directly into a self imposed mind fuck, full of what-ifs and regrets. Everyone tried to convince him that he was better off, but still we worried about the future.

And just when the night was darkest, the sun rose again on this poor fellas life. No, it wasn't some tremendous revelation about loves lost. But rather, it took the form of a simple night out at the bars with a few good people, and a girl that wanted his sack.

Now it may sound like this was a done deal from the get go, but I actually had to do a bit of convincing to get this guy to jump back in the saddle and do work. I'll admit, she wasn't a tremendous looker, but she was fun and an overall southern sweetheart, so I told him his plan once they got home should be to close his eyes, turn off the lights, and not care about it in the morning. Game on for him.

As luck would have it, it turned out this girl may also be the best mediocre looking one night stand I've ever heard of. Not because of her bedroom skills, but based purely on the fact that she gave my dear friend a high five as she exited his car in the morning.

So for all of you that know this guy or some other triathlete like him; do me a favor and commend them for trying to re-discover their nuts and deal with their shit. May we all be so fortunate.

No time to bullshit...

Sorry for the delays people, but quite frankly I just don't have time to entertain right now. However, I've got a few ideas floating around, so stay tuned for the following titles:
-Fat Girls in Tights: Temporarily ruining my day since 1987
-Everybody Loves a High-five: a tale of redemption
-Iowa City Blackout, and no I'm not talking about Kinnick Stadium.
-Why environmentalists continue to suck at life

Until Later...
